Service Types and Reminders

Keep your church services organized with different Service Types, which can be managed in the WorshipTools Planning app.

Service types are completely customizable to fit your ministry's needs. For example, some common service type names include "Sunday Morning," "Youth Group," "Rehearsal," "Special Events," "Contemporary Service," "Traditional Service," "Friday Bible Study," etc.

To see and edit your service types, open the Planning app, go to Services, and look for the Service Types page. There, you can add, remove, and modify service types for your account.

The Free plan is limited to 1 service type per account. Please upgrade to the WorshipTools Pro or Pro Plus plans to unlock more service types.

Automated Service Reminders

For each service type on your account, you can set a series of automated service reminders. These reminders will send an automatic reminder notification to your staff and volunteers to remind them of upcoming schedules.

To set up automated service reminders, head to Services > Service Types in Planning. Then, click on the pencil icon for the service type you'd like to set reminders for. You can set up to five reminders for each service type.

Users will receive reminders if they have accepted a role in a particular service or if they have been invited but have not yet accepted or declined the invitation. Those who have declined will not receive reminders. Reminders are sent via email and/or mobile push notifications, and these settings can be managed under each user's Planning settings.

Note: notifications go out at the top of the hour. For example, if your service is scheduled for 11:30am with a reminder set for "an hour prior," the reminder will go out at 10:00am

Automated Service Reminders are available on the WorshipTools Pro and Pro Plus plans.
